Hello Life - Easy Washi Tape Card

Hello there Stampers!

I've been back from the annual Stampin' Up! Convention for almost a week now and it's been crazy-town here. Funny how when you're away for a bit the laundry fairy fails to show up and the dirty dish fairy takes a vacay and the bathroom cleaning fairy is caught sleeping on the job....
Jet lag maybe?? LOL!

Anywho, I had a fabulous time in Salt Lake City last week, spending much needed time with so many of my stamping besties AND a special treat for me, my Emma was able to attend with me! We had a blast! And she's now in LOVE with Stampin' Up! I guess growing up with it wasn't enough to sway her to the fun side, but being in the cradle of creativity pushed her over the edge. Love it!

I shared a house with my stampin' sisters from my 2nd year on the Advisory Board. These ladies are my true blue, through thick and thin, always there when you need them "sistahs". I'll love them til' I die. And that's gonna be a LONG time!
Here's a pic of us on the front porch of the historic house we rented.

L to R: Georgia Giguere, Jodi Reinert, Karen Duke, Stella MacKay, Me!, Sharon Armstrong, Janet Wakeland (not pictured Meg Wheeler)
I'll have more pics of the fun from Convention to share - just need to download and edit them all.
For now, check out one of my swap cards!

I used the Hello Life stamp set and the Cherry on Top Washi Tape to create a fun, but clean and simple card that's perfect to encourage anyone.
Cards don't need to be fussy or complicated to be awesome - and when the plan is to bring a smile to someones face you can't go wrong with a message like this one! It's all simple layering too, so it's easy to mail.

Here are the products I used to create this card:

#TGIFC10 - Thanks for the Color Challenge!

It's been YEARS people -
literally years, since I've played in an online stamping challenge.
Well, guess it's time I jump back in, whatcha' think?

If you've been with me for a long time, you know I used to be an operator at the Stamping 411 Weekly Challenge Blog. That was a ton of fun, and I made some great friends while being part of that community.
If you've not been part of a design team or played along with a challenge blog, take time to do it! It's fun, it will stretch you creatively and you'll make art that many can enjoy!

Here's my project for the TGIF Challenges Blog:

Here's the challenge for this week:

I {{heart}} these colors together SO much!

I combined a TON of products on my card project - it was really fun to just let myself go and create for ME. My style isn't always clean and simple - which I know my clients like a lot - but sometimes I want to just go for broke and design something that makes me smile.
This does it today. :)

Here's a complete supply list for you:

To place an order for any of these supplies and more, just click on any of the thumbnail photos above and you'll go directly to my Online Store.
Be sure to check out the Weekly Deals and the Clearance Rack - both updated just yesterday!

In case you were wondering, I'm creating a pdf tutorial for this project that I'll be sending out in my newsletter this week. If you're not on my mailing list, you might want to sign up for it. There's a spot over in the right sidebar that you can do that!

I'm really glad you stopped by today and I hope you enjoyed the project!
Happy crafting!

Clean and Simple Dahlia Card

Hello stampers!

Now that all the excitement of graduation and the end of the school year has passed, we are we are finally settling into a more relaxed Summer schedule. In other words, this Momma has some breathing space! And that means creating time!
Can I get an Amen?!

The day of graduation I received two boxes of all NEW Stampin' Up! goodies:

It was the saddest sight.
Two unopened boxes of wonderful new crafting toys...
But, family first and all. Blah, blah, blah. LOL!

When I did get time to open them and play, I chose to start with something clean and simple to get the creative juices flowing:

There is so much to love about this project I'm not sure where to begin -
The NEW Thick Whisper White card stock is AWESOME for card bases and it takes our ink beautifully!

This Definitely Dahlia stamp image is STUNNING!
And the NEW In Colors Striped Cotton Ribbon is the perfect touch between classic and rustic - I am in LOVE.

There is nothing complicated about this card - just one tip to share - I stamped a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock with the Dahlia image after I'd stamped the card base and I love the paler version of the Mint Macaron ink for a background. Simple and elegant.
I'll also share that this ink looks darker when it's wet, so don't panic if it looks too dark, you'll love the color once it dries and sinks into the card stock, I promise!

Here's the products I used to create this project:
