NEW! Perfect Pennants Big Shot Die!

Good morning stampers!

Did ya miss me yesterday? Confession time, I was too lazy to post. Yes, sad but true. You see, I have this morning routine where I get up, get my first cup of coffee, sit with Mark a little while and then when he goes to get ready for work, I pull out the laptop. Sitting in my big comfy chair in the corner of the family room, I write my daily blog post. So for you regular readers, if the post isn't up in the morning, then you know I've had to get up early and actually DO something! Otherwise, you can just picture me in my pj's (or not, I can assure you, it's nothing to write home about!), drinking my coffee, morning news on the tv, all cozy with the warm laptop, writing to you!

So, why was I too lazy to post? Well, it seems that the power supply cord - you know, the one with the box thingy on the cord? - has gone kaput. Yep, and now my laptop won't work. So, I have to come all the way downstairs and actually sit at my desk in the studio to post from the computer here. Yeah, terrible isn't it?
I've been lobbying Mark for a new laptop since mine is about 8 years old, but he says it's still "good enough" and a new power supply cord is cheaper. Any suggestions on how I can kill it permanently without leaving evidence? LOL!

So, since I didn't do it yesterday, this morning, I sacrificed my big comfy chair - still have my coffee - and came down to the studio to post, just for you! And it's really cool - wanna see? Ok, here ya go:

It's a card made with the new Perfect Pennants Die!

It's really cute - kind of a petite little spud, but simply adorable in person!

I used Poppy Parade Cardstock for the card base and simply laid my folded left edge, just inside the left cut line of the die. When it went through the Big Shot, the folded card came out the other side! I love making shaped cards with my Big Shot Dies, the are so unexpected and very fun.

I made this almost a month ago - right after I got my pre-order from SU!. But I've been holding on to it to show you after the new catalog came out. This way, you don't have to wait to order it! You can do it right away!

See the Designer Paper circle element? Well, that's cut out with the Perfect Pennants Die too. I used the new Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper and backed it with a piece of Wild Wasabi Cardstock that was punched out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.
The stamped Whisper White circle was punched out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and the greeting banner was done with the Modern Label Punch. Can you tell that I love my punches and cannot do without them? I'll bet you are the same way!

Even the So Saffron Cardstock border across the top was punched out with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I used my Crop-a-Dile to add a row of even holes across the border and threaded the Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through it. Super cute!

I used three different stamp sets for the stamping - Create a Cupcake for the cupcake, Party This Way for the greeting and Crazy for Cupcakes for the inside sentiment. The colors I used for the stamping and sponging were Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi and Poppy Parade, all colors pulled from the Designer Paper except for the Espresso. The brown just grounds the colors and pulls them together. There is a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the cupcake icing too!

Here's a side and an inside view:

You can see the elements on the card front are all popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals - they so make this card!
The inside was easy - I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and ran it through the Pennant Die, then trimmed off 1/8" from the top and right side so it would fit perfectly inside the card with a small border of Poppy showing around it.

This card made me do the stamper's happy dance when it was all done so I hope you like it too! And now that the new Catalog has gone live, you can order everything you need to recreate it at home. Just visit my Online Store using the supply list below and you'll soon be on your way!

Have a fun day stamping friends, I'll be in the studio continuing to get ready for Convention next week and for the Firehouse Stamp Camp tomorrow night!
Stamped blessings,
~~Robin

  1. Darling card, Robin!
To kill your laptop, try eating Grape Nuts cereal while using your computer. Spill just one between the keys in such a way you can't get it out, and feel it being crunched and moved under different keys for several weeks. At least that may be what killed my previous laptop, but if you tell my husband this story I will deny it!
