Glittered Deck the Halls

More Christmas!!

Folks, the way I've been making Christmas cards around here, you'd think it was December already! But, sadly no. We have a few more shopping days to go! HA!
I promise to bring you some lovely FALL creations next week, but don't you want to see the last of my Christmas in August cards today? Great! Here you go -

I absolutely love, love, LOVE the new stamp set Merry and Type. It's in the Idea Book and Catalog and was one of my first purchases on July 1st when we were able to order at will! You will be seeing a lot of this one on my blog so you'd better just cave now and go buy it - especially now that you know you'll be getting lots of ideas for it!

As I was planning card for this class, I was looking through my upline's photos of the display boards at the Charlotte, NC Regional event and I saw a card that inspired mine here. I have just been told that the original creator is Susan Campfield. Thanks for the inspiration Susan!

I kept this one simple and used just three colors - Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. The cardstock was cut lengthwise and then scored at 5 1/2" x 2 3/4" using my new Simply Scored tool! (Did you order yours yesterday?) Those score lines create what is sometimes called a "Z" Fold card.
For the outside, top layer, I ran it through my Big Shot using the Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The greeting layers are Early Espresso and Very Vanilla with my greeting stamped in Riding Hood Red Classic Ink. These layers were adhered to the embossed layer with 3 Stampin' Dimensionals.
I used about 8" of Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon for my bow and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot.

The inside layer is simple as well, I inked up the ornaments image with more Riding Hood Red Ink and stamped it on the far right side. Using my 2 Way glue Pen, I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the ornaments and then adhered the layer inside the card.
See! Simple, quick and easy!

We have a fun, relaxing weekend planned. School finally starts on Tuesday (Praise God!) and Mark's Mom is coming up for a last minute visit. So nothing special activity wise, just winding down - we hope - from a whirlwind Summer! How about you, any special plans? Maybe you'll get to stamp a bit! Maybe you'll get started on your Christmas cards! Well, if you do, here's a few of the products I used on today's card project:

#122552 - Merry and Type Stamp Set $18.95 Clear Mount

#122334 - Simply Scored Scoring Tool $29.95
#116824 - Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder $7.95

If you're planning to do a little Labor Day weekend shopping, but don't want to stray far from home, you can start with my Online Stampin' Store. There you'll find all the products I've used today and many, many more! There are always some great bargains to be had in the Clearance Rack section as well - so don't miss it!

Have a great weekend everyone - safe travels!

  3. Really love this card. Definitely casing it (with credit to you of course) for my next Stamp a stack Christmas card class. I did it both in Dazzling Diamonds and another in fine Silver Galaxy Glitter. Interesting difference. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work.
