Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge #SSC119

Happy Saturday, Stampers! It's time for another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge and you are going to have so much fun with this sketch! It's so great for turning or flipping an element which is what I did with my card.
See........what do you think?

I am so happy it's finally FALL here in Virginia. The air is crisp and cool and the sky is the perfect shade of blue - my favorite time of year besides Christmastime. This season was the inspiration for the card I've made today. I had to pull out one of my very favorite stamp sets, Lovely as a Tree and use this gorgeous oak leaf image. I stamped it with Gold Encore ink onto a piece of More Mustard cardstock, then heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool. It was then trimmed out with my Paper Snips and I curled the piece using my Bone Folder and treating it like curling ribbon. I placed the paper between my thumb and the Bone Folder and gently pulled outward, curling the paper slightly with each pull. This is a simple technique that really adds dimension to a project.

Next I mounted it with Stampin' Dimensionals to the layered cardstock focal point. The layers are Elegant Eggplant (dragged with Elegant Eggplant ink), Really Rust and More Mustard. I added two Gold Brads to the top corners with my Paper Piercer Tool, then I wrapped a long piece of Gold Elastic Cord around the bottom and tied it in a knot on the front.

This focal point piece was mounted to the card base which was created with a piece of Really Rust cardstock stamped with the Sanded background in Really Rust ink. The torn layers are Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard and a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Autumn Meadows collection in the Holiday Mini. For me, the brown tones in that dsp really pulled all the elements together.

As I mentioned earlier, I added my greeting to the right side of this card. It's from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink onto More Mustard cardstock. I punched it out with my Word Window punch and layered it onto a piece of Really Rust cardstock punched out with the Modern Label punch. It's mounted with another Stampin' Dimensional and completed the card.

Now, it's time for YOU to play along! Just complete your creation with the sketch and upload it to the Stamping 411 Blog using the Mr. Linky widget provided. Remember, you have until Wednesday night to upload your project. We, the operators, pick our 5 favorite projects each week for our showcase on Thursday. That could be YOU!~ I can't wait to see what you design!
Happy stamping!
