One of a Kind Doily

6:30 am is awfully early in my house, especially in the Summer time.
But 6:30 this morning found me in the studio, my favorite Italian Blend coffee by my side, working on this card.

So I guess the question is, was it worth the early hour or should I have just gone back to bed? HA!
To be honest, I love the end result, but if you could have been with me during the hour and a half process to get there, you'd know why I thought about catching some more zzz's.

I started with two of my favorite things - the new Hello, Doily background stamp and Poppy Parade ink. I added a little collaging with the swirl from the Creative Elements stamp set in Crumb Cake ink.

There's a lot going on with this card, I KNOW, but can you relate to being in the creative groove and just not being able to stop?!! I still think it needs a bit of Champagne Glitter or a couple of Basic Pearls - but I really did have to stop somewhere and when Mark called me to say he was bringing me Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, I figured the glitter and pearls could go on another card! LOL!
I know, shame on me for abandoning the creative process for the lure of some Chicken Minis and Hash Brown Rounds. Oh yeah, I can tell you're drooling just thinking about it so I know you totally get it! HA!

Anyway, here's a close up of that poufy flower:

This card's probably not real mailable, but really - that's ok sometimes.
To make my flower, I used Designer Paper from the Subtles Patterns Stack - So Saffron polka dot to be exact. I cut five flowers out with my Big Shot and the Fun Flowers Die - 3 medium and 2 small. They were spritzed with rubbing alcohol and crumpled to start the poufy, distressed look. I sponged them and spritzed them with a combination of Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Chocolate Chip using my Stampin' Write Markers and the Color Spritzing Tool.
I put all the petals together with an Antique Brad and smooshed them up just because I could. Why not?
Behind the flower, I attached some pieces of Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon that were spritzed with Peach Parfait ink. The whole thing was attached with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Let's talk about the tag for a minute:

I took a strip of 1" Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped my greeting from the new Occasions Alphabet. It was inked up with my Poppy Parade and Chocolate Chip markers. To make the tag, I punched the flag end with my 1 1/4" Square Punch, using just the corner. The top was made by sliding the flag end of the cardstock strip into the Wide Oval Punch and out through the opening on the back so only one side of the cardstock would punch. That created the oval shaped top. I used my Bone Folder to distress the cardstock, spritzed and sponged it, then tied up the top with some Linen Thread.

I told you I just couldn't stop!

So there you go, a glimpse into my 6:30 am world.

Here's a couple of the products I used for this card:

123598 Occasions Alphabet Clear Mount
121812 Fun Flowers Bigz L Die
