Rain or Shine Flower Shaped Card

It snowed here yesterday!
I know for some of you that's not such big news - you get snow all the time.
But my daughter was lamenting the fact that they hadn't had a snow day all. year. long.
Poor baby.
Well, it came at just right time because it gave her an extra day to study for her Pre-AP Geometry Mid-Term.
Yeah, that's just the way I'd want to spend my snow day! LOL!

So, my card today is a little more Spring than Winter, but the sentiment is pretty close - maybe we should have a stamp that says "Thoughts of you...snow or sun." And the Designer Paper could have snowflakes and mittens!  HeeHee!

As you can see, it's another one of my shaped cards that I've been having so much fun with. This one actually fits in a standard A2 envelope - the ones that Stampin' Up! offers in our catalog.
I created this card for yet another swap at our Leadership conference in Orlando and I think the other swappers liked it very much!

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Sunshine and Sprinkles and to be perfectly honest, when I first saw it in the new Spring Catalog, I didn't like it. It reminded me too much of high school and those crazy 80's color combos - all rainbows and unicorns.
BUT, once I got my package and actually opened it, the colors and patterns just grabbed me and I could not stop using it. In fact, I went through almost my entire first package in a week! All I had left were scraps - seriously!
Thank goodness I knew where to order more and I now have TWO packages so I don't run out again. Ha!

This card is cut out with the Floral Framelits Dies. I embossed the front with the Polka Dot embossing folder and layered it with a piece of the Designer Paper cut with a smaller die in the floral set. That piece of Designer Paper is sponged with Marina Mist ink.

The sentiment and focal image are from the stamp set Rain or Shine and I mounted them on the same Clear Block for easier stamping. I used Stampin' Write Markers to color the images - Melon Mambo, Marina Mist and Old Olive. Once it was stamped, I punched it out using my 2 1/2" Circle Punch, then added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the edge with a 2 Way Glue Pen.

The little bow is made with the new Old Olive Striped Organdy Ribbon and adhered with Glue Dots.

Such a bright, fun card - and really super easy to make too!
