Open Seas Paper Collage

Well, by the time you are reading this, we will be on our way home from vacation.
I don't have to tell you that I know I will be feeling withdrawal symptoms. Sigh.

One of my favorite places to be is by the sea. I feel so at peace there, so relaxed. I used to own a stamp from another company that said "Down by the sea we forget to count the days".
Boy, is that ever true for me.

So, I guess it's appropriate that the card I'm sharing today is 'ocean-y'. It's one I designed for my card classes in June and was really my favorite of them all.

There's a lot going on with this card, but I wanted to create a small collage on the card front with layers and textures and ink. You guys know that vintage is my thing and I think this qualifies.  :)

I used The Open Sea stamp set and a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The color scheme is Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse and Soft Suede. There are a few new products on this card too. In addition to the Midnight Muse ink and cardstock, I used the new Ticket Duo Punch and the Argyle Embossing Folder for my Big Shot.
Most of the layers are lifted up with Stampin' Dimensionals - I used about 10 on this card.

Here's a peek at the inside:

The greeting is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set. Kept it simple on the inside, just a couple of stamped images in the lower corner and some sponging to mimic the front.

I did have some pieces left over so I made up the rest for Convention swaps. Catch me early if you want one though, I think I have about 7 of them.

Here's one of my favorite photos from our vacation - the view I was treated to every day from the rocks in front of our house:
I could have stayed there forever.

Have a blessed day friends!
