Vintage Pages from my Attic

Welcome to 2013 everyone!
I took a little blogging break over Christmas and to be really honest, I took a little stamping break too. We had company in and out, traveled to see family and took time to just rest and spend some quality family time together.
It was so needed and so nice!

Now I'm back to work and in the studio preparing to leave for the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference next Wednesday. I didn't do myself any favors by slacking on the stamping over Christmas - I'm a little behind the 8 ball on my swap cards and scrapbook pages for trading. Ah well, it will all get done, I have no doubt.

That got me to thinking that I'd never shared this layout with you all here on the blog - and I created it for last year's Leadership swap. (I KNOW, I'm such a slacker.)

But I have to share it with you because it's one of my favorite layouts ever!
Here's page 1:

I used Crumb Cake 12 x 12 cardstock for my background and stamped the Sweet Floral Background all over with Daffodil Delight ink. This background stamp is so lovely - one of my favorites actually and I don't think it gets noticed enough in our catalog. Here's a picture of it:
#122855 - Sweet Floral Background (wood)  $17.95

The other stamping I did on the page was with a background stamp I created myself with the Broadsheet Alphabet and the largest Clear Block "F". I simply mounted as many letters from the alphabet set onto the one block in a collage fashion - so easy to do and one of the many reasons I love the clear blocks for stamping - you can make your own stamps!
So, that was inked with Soft Suede ink and stamped down the left side of the page and again on the Pool Party cardstock piece that is a background for the Soft Suede cardstock photo mats.
I used the now retired Notes and Details stamp set for the journaling lines, but these could easily be hand drawn with a Soft Suede marker and a ruler.
The ribbon accent is done with Pool Party Seam Binding and an Antique Brad and I used the now retired Log Cabin Smooch Spray over that whole matted piece. Now I would use the Color Spritzer tool and the Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker.
The strips of DSP are from the First Edition pack and the Attic Boutique pack which is on the Clearance Rack right now for a BARGAIN  at $4.39! I love this paper and so will you - especially at that price!
Here's a photo of the paper:

Here's page 2:

As you can see, much of the same stamping, but a few different accents. I punched out three flowers from DSP with the Blossom Punch. They were crumpled to give them a worn look then mounted to the page with dimensionals. the center of the Pool Party flower was done with a piece of Soft Suede DSP and the 1" Circle Punch, finished with another Antique Brad.
The journaling block was created with the Labels Framelits set using Very Vanilla and Soft Suede cardstock.

I really, really love this layout and even though it's "old", it's new to you right? ;)

I do have lots of new projects to share with you - just need to get them photographed and uploaded so you can see them.
Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you back here on Monday.
Now, go stamp something fun!

  1. Since you will be going to Leadership I thought I would post a suggestion. I have been stamping for over 12 years and have all the markers. Over time I have been replacing them as needed. Now I can't do that. I am disappointed that we can't buy just one as we need it but have to buy the set which I don't need. Perhaps you can discuss this at your meeting.
Thank you for all you do.
    Happy New Year.
